Posted a time of 21:10 yesterday on week 6 2miler. I’m impressed with you guys that do two of these in one week. Again I do like the flexibility you have with the plans to moves things around….I moved the TAB to earlier in the week and have a rest day today.

I hadn’t done a timed 2 miler in like 8 months and said, ‘why not’ today. I used a GoRuck Rucker with their 30# ruck plate.

21’20” with 35# pack, flat ground at sea level.

Haven’t done one of these in a few months since finishing the 12 week fitness plan, I’m thinking I’ll repeat it this year again after looking at the better times I was posting while in the middle of that program.

I’ll have another 2 miler time to post in 2 weeks. I did re-do the 12 week plan and am starting week 5- the end of week 6 has a milestone 2 miler TAB with 35# pack. So far I’m mostly keeping up with my run times from the first time through the plan, and I’m happy with that since it’s much warmer here now than it was 6 months ago. Here’s to thriving not just surviving!

Posted a time of 22:11 this morning wearing PC with plates(16 lbs) and 20 lb ruck. Had to laugh… at last turn back an old gent that walks the neighborhood daily…states. ” man that’s work…” and then he said. “that’s punishment”. By that time my stride was falling apart and my breathing sounded horrible even to me.

    Good job! :good:

I get some odd looks in my neighborhood, when moving through with the loaded pack on a run or tab. There’s a local MVT alum and his son who would sometimes go with me, and once we ran into someone from my work who lives in the same neighborhood as she was out walking the dog. Told her we were “getting the son ready for ROTC” which we were. Now that his son is away in college, not sure what I’ll say next time I see someone I know.

I did a 3 miler yesterday with 210 ft elevation gain. Total time was just under 38, the first two miles were done in about 26 minutes.

My paces up and down these hills seems to be improving over time, even if its just 30 seconds or a minute here and there.

I definitely get some looks from people I pass while wearing my ruck, but I’m sure they would be a lot more curious if it was a PC.

35# pack, 2 miles in 20:39 today, in PT gear vs boots/pants.
After several of these, the boots/pants add a minute to a minute and a half, for me. I like my boots but I could probably find some that are more nimble to run in.

I did 2 miles in 23:20 in 18 degrees with 40 pounds of total gear today. On my road with snow/ice in spots. Road is a dead end and has a grade going and coming. Getting ready for class in March and April. But I do have a 5k 3 gun match on 2-3 where you have to carry your gear. We will be graded on time for the run, time and accuracy on the stages and weight carried.

Where are you located? If you are near NoVA, got more info on the 5k/3 gun match?

:good: Good job. It’s been ‘cold’ here in FL (just above freezing) but seeing your post motivated me to get out of the warm bed this morning to go do another one of these 2 milers.

19:47 this morning with 35# pack and cold weather PT gear, clear and 35 degrees out, flat ground.
I didn’t want to get up out of a nice warm bed, but seeing other people post here really helps me with the motivation.

1-16-18 I did 3 miles in 35:28 with 44.4 pounds of total gear 11 degrees. It seems I hit 12 minute per miles pace consistently. Roughly the same exact conditions above I did 4.8 miles in 59 minutes earlier this month. I did do 1 mile in 10:00ish same conditions but it was tough. I am getting used to the weight but I don’t feel like I am getting faster. I was never in the military and not sure if I am doing ok at 41 years old or I suck. Vets thoughts? I carry 38-45 pounds of gear each trip on pavement with a slight grade.

Per the Fitness Plan, did a 2-mile ruck-run with 35lbs, on level ground. First time with 35lbs. Got 20:17. Aiming for sub-18 eventually.

I found that run times correlates closely with total weight. So if I weigh 20% more with a pack on, my time will be 20% longer. This has held true doing the 2 miler without a pack, with 10lbs, 30lbs, and now 35lbs, and before and after losing some weight.

It also follows (and I saw some research confirming it) that body fat percentage correlates directly with run times and general fitness scores as well, i.e. those who score best typically have the lowest body fat.
