I imagine some of you have been following this but the Justice Department recently reached a settlement with Defense Distributed, the open-source firearm company founded by Cody Wilson.
This means he can host gun schematics on his website again, meanwhile his team is busy scanning and creating schematics for yet more firearms. They’re also attempting to build a library (yes, with books) to gain access to the stockpiles of DoD schematics they wouldn’t be able to otherwise.
I wonder if that means we’ll be milling out Garands next?

I live in Austin and have had a few experiences with DD. The takeaway from this is that they are exporting the 2nd amendment worldwide and that can only make tyrants afraid. God bless Texas.
What is going to be very interesting to me with all of this is effectively crowd sourcing new firearms designs. With the rise of this tech, it’s a pretty low barrier to entry.
