    Chechens are hard dudes so it’s worth reading up on their tactics. Nice find, and thanks!

    There is a short article entitled “A 4GW Reading List” over at American Partisan where the author lists this book and a bunch of others in the same vein.

    When the government's boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of no consequence.

    This is a great book. Written specifically to capture the tactics involved in the Russian-Chechen Wars. This is not a broad generalization, but breakdowns of specific engagements.

    LOTS of take aways, from both sides.

    The two biggest:
    -If the Chechens had discipline (and some outside help for beans and bullets) they would have been able to do more.
    -If the Russians had better infantry, the Chechens wouldn’t have done much at all
