Welcome to Week 2 of the Forum Fitness Challenge!
    (On behalf of JohnnyMac)

In the video below, I announce the workout, provide tips and demonstrate the workout.

    {video to publish 7/14/17}

    5 Rounds for Time of:
    6x Shuttle Run 10m
    15x Ground to Overhead w/ Bricks (6/4)
    2x Curb Walk 10m

    Supporting Instructions:

    Movement Standards:

Shuttle Run: out and back three times, ensure both feet cross the lines

Ground to Overhead: begins with bricks making contact with the ground and finishes with hips open and arms locked out overhead

Curb Walk: the curb is acting as a balance beam. If curb is unavailable, improvise with lumber/log (2×6 or similar). Coming off the balance beam at the turn around point is acceptable. If you fall off the balance beam while traversing it, return to start/turnaround point. USE CAUTION: I would suggest sticking to a pace you’re comfortable with given your balance ability. If you start to lose balance, it’s safer to step off and repeat the 10m than risk rolling an ankle.

Be honest with your form/reps, especially the ground to overhead. Integrity.

    Scoring:

Submit your best time for this workout by commenting below with your time completed, age group (see week 1 for age groups) and a post-workout photo of you and the equipment/10m points in the background NO LATER THAN 7/20/17. You’re free to continue to participate, but failure to comply will remove your eligibility for earning the patch.

    GOOD LUCK!!!

So, 32lf of 2×4 laid out on the ground will suffice for the curb walk? We don’t have any curb on the farm.

If it’s due to file size, I usually post on Facebook, with privacy set as only me, and copy and past the photo url into a post. Facebook automatically reduces the file size.

8:17 surprised at time but I do a lot of shuttle run work and stork balances daily

    tips…..tie your shoes well

bust your ass on the shuttle runs

and if you use 2x4s lay them out and do a couple of rehearsals to insure a good level lineup

Time = 7:33, although looking at the other times already posted, I’m wondering what I did wrong.

Bobbi said we should do handstands next week on the beam.

@Virgil Kane after seeing other times and starting to second guess myself so thinking I will attempt it again possibly slower to ensure my form and stuff is up to standards (I was trying to focus on this the first run but to be honest also wanted to do it as fast as possible) I may have jacked something up so will report back as soon as I get the time to run it again. May be tomorrow at the rate today is going for me.

    Nice time by the way!

quick update ran it again (slower this time to focus on form and not messing up countning) and hit just over the same numbers so going with my first run.

Knocked it out this morning before it got too hot.
    Open division, 8:10 to complete.

Fell off the curb twice, that sucked.

I used my ruck with a 30 lb steel plate in it, if that’s alright.

    FULL DISCLOSURE…

As previously noted, I cannot rotate my right arm above my head so using 2 hands on the bricks wasn’t going to happen. My 6 brinks had a combined weight of 23lbs. In place I used a 25lb dumbbell and finished the move from the ground to chest off with a one handed overhead for each of the 15 reps per round. Again, not to spec but the best replacement move I could come up with.

I used slips of tape on the chair to keep count of my ‘laps.’ There were 5 pieces of tap and one was pulled after the completion of each ‘lap.’

I am like the guy above who thinks he may have done something wrong but I have reviewed the video and instructions several times and with the exception of using a dumbbell it seems to be correct.

    Masters III 6:33

I fell of the 2x4s once, about half way down. Other than that it was a clean run.

    Y’all have a nice day.

OK, for some reason the photo isn’t loading, I’ll try to fix that later.

I did this one after a day of rest, as opposed to the first round I did after a day of heavy upper body lifts. Made all the difference.
