For those of you interested in growing yourself and your ability to perform as a team, check out Jocko Willink. You can look up his wikipedia page for his background if necessary. After reading his book, listening to his podcasts, and actually applying many of the lessons his ideas definitely prove useful.
Jocko wrote a book with another SEAL from his team called “Extreme Ownership” which I would definitely recommend. The preface does say that it was submitted to the DOD for approval, and it is apparent by the level of praise and specificity of unit designation used when referencing another unit. That’s really the only downside I’ll claim. The book is not a war memoir. It’s written in a very logical progression where they put forth an idea, a scenario in battle that illustrates it, and then put it in context of civilian business.
Tim Ferris and Joe Rogan both hosted Jocko and were actually the reason Jocko started his own podcasts. His own podcasts are pretty interesting, of course some more than others. His voice and cadence can be quite captivating, especially when he’s on about something heavy. Couple noteworthy ones:

We don’t really go to SEALs for our lessons on leadership or soldiering. They are after all, in the Navy, and are not soldiers. That’s despite them being the hair gelled darlings of US Media. Need a deep international relations topic analysed on Fox News? Great, get some unqualified SEAL to spout his deep knowledge of the matter…..
Bah, let me pour another one, it’s day 2 of the 8 day in the morning…..the reason I like to post excellent, legitimate, resources in the leadership section is because they are trusted. When I get back, I will look for more, better, leadership resources/books.
And Tango, you should have joined the Army. How old are you now? Not the Navy….June 15, 2016 at 5:16 am #28011KeeperParticipant
Oh come on now don’t pick on the Navy after all we do our part Like drink coffee, push buttons and paint our boats gray.

I knew somebody was going to chime in with this lol. At least now we have complaining in this section instead of the silence before this thread
If you guys have better content I would gladly read/listen to it. I’d much rather pay attention to things on this matter than another damn thread or video about gear.
