Congrats and hopefully you are already on the AmRRON nets. There are a number of guys here who are very experienced operators who can teach us much.
If you want to try your rig out and practice I’m always up for a contact. Each time I operate the gear I learn something.
If you use digital on HF, you can now check how your signal is getting out. pskreporter.com is a good site to track your signal and who is receiving it. I use JT-65 to evaluate different set ups and power settings. A great tool.

    Way to go Bill
Congratulations. The digital modes can be fun. I need a tree guy to do some work here so I can get my 80M wire back up and effective, limited now to 40 mostly because one leg of antenna is to low….

Mine is off center fed with one leg 45′ the other 90′ and each leg has about 30 feet of line on the end to tie off to the trees. so yeah, 80M takes some space.

What days, times for your net?
I usually do the AMRRON net on Sunday and Monday evenings from Fla. I have the space for a full length 80 m dipole. I only use up to 100w and can usually get in.

Dennis – Are you talking about TAPRN or does AMRRON also run East coast nets? I did not know there was a Monday night net.

They are AMRRON nets. The Sunday one is listed under reginal I think and the net control in near Atlanta. The Monday one is subreginal is by a guy near Orlando. I’m at a local airshow so I cannot look it up right now.

Great idea but we cant call it the MVT net because of the commercial implications and FCC limitations. Another name would be needed.

How about the Northeast Patriots for a net? Maybe once a week at say 8pm?
Be a good place for some of us to get together and talk? Maybe coordinate car pools to classes at Max’s?
