Great class! Folks need to take this to round out the whole warrior!
I have a show out west then or I’d be there for a 2nd run through. Hopefully schedule will permit next go around.
After last August’s class I “thought” I bought the exact same LRF and spotting scope you had there, cause I loved that setup. Well I guess I bought a slightly different LRF, the same model but no attachment to the rail on the spotting scope like yours has. It just has this standard looking camera type screw in deal on the bottom (see pic). Do you know if their is an adapter that attaches that to the rail on the spotting scope? Hard to keep the LRF steady to get good ranging past about 700 yards.

Robert, that mount was a random mount I had laying around… The LRFs don’t come with that unfortunately. Now you can use that standard screw to tie into your tripod like the spotting scope does. Thats how most people run them because most spotting scopes don’t have a picatinny on them. I’ll look around online and see if I can find one similar to what I have later on tonight or tomorrow morning and get back to you.

John I recently got the Applied Ballistic app and was wondering if there is a way to take the chart you gave us at the last class and put my rifles data in easily as opposed to having it create data for me?

Not that I am aware of unfortunately, however you’re not going to want that data to stay the same at all times because your environment is going to change dramatically based on where your shooting and the time of year. Temperature and Altitude are a big deal in long range. My guidance is to make sure you have your gun set up correctly in the app which should be easy as you sent me all the pertinent gun information already, then input the muzzle velocity that we recorded on the chrono, ensure that your bullet parameters are correct, and that your environmental’s are accurate to where your shooting and the app will give you the proper data. You can always go into the ballistic calibration setting when your looking at the dope chart it gives you and true your gun at that environment. ie if your targets at 1000 yards and it tells you to hold 9.5 mil but your actually hitting target at 10.2 mils, enter the target range (1000yds) and 10.2 and it will shift the ballistic algorithm to the appropriate trajectory model (usually by making a change to your muzzle velocity).
hope this helps, if I didn’t go in-depth enough email me and I can provide a step by step walk through.

Not the same as mine but this will offset the LRF but should work, and its only like $23.00. I’ll keep my eye out for others.
Also just found this one that should work and keep everything nice and flush.
let me know if this helps,
