I guess I’m getting too old. I got lost after Warren Zevon.

About half the time, I’m working out in silence, mostly because stupid rechargeable Bluetooth speaker is always dead. It lasts about 3-4 workouts then needs charging. The other half the time, I’ve got electro/trap blasting. Just something with a lot of bass.
I have some hardwired speakers coming for the gym, no more ridiculous dead speaker.September 22, 2018 at 8:57 am #63003rampantraptorParticipant
Because besides being solid guerrilla forces PKK make some bangers.
I’m a Punch Brothers fan so this one was always a nice pick me up when I was overseas. Pretty good band overall and also worth seeing live btw. This album (Phosphorescent Blues) in general is gorgeous, “Familiarity” gave me goosebumps when I first heard it.
…This one is a bit faster and also fun seeing live.
Don’t really listen to nu metal much since high school and the writing here is a bit simplistic (like most pop, basically) but this is something a bit more high-testosterone and shamelessly catchy.
I’m a big Tame Impala fan, so this is another bright pick-me-up kind of song. Lonerism is also an amazing album and you should listen to it at least once if you like psychedelic rock.
…And something rap because I’m a city kid and this is a hard beat even though I’ve never been a big Jay fan.
Sorry for the long post, I don’t get to share my musical tastes often and then everyone tells me they’re just weird.

Never gets old:
There is an old late 90’s early 00’s Marine Corps recruiting video that I can see in my head but can’t find right now. Never fails to get my jaw clenched and fists tight.

While ruck marching:
And my ties are severed clean
The less I have the more I gain, off the beaten path I reign
Rover, wanderer, nomad, vagabond
Call me what you will,
But I’ll take my time anywhere
I’m free to speak my mind anywhere
And I’ll never mind anywhere
Anywhere I roam, where I lay my head is home
And while not technically music…

This will probably be more popular among the Young Bucks in here. This found me through a recommended video or something. This guy makes techno-synth-wave type mixes with lyrics sampled from Jordan Peterson, Jocko, Elon Musk, Alan Watts, etc. Maybe it’s like intellectual synth? Idk, but it’s pretty cool.
He also has straight plan instrumentals if you’re burnt out on people talking.
