So I’ve been on Parler; pronounced /par-lay/, for a few days now.
“Parler (Parler : /paʁ.le/ : /par-lay/) is a Commenting, Social News, and Influence Network that creates a shared ecosystem between digital publishers, influencers and users. Rather than a static website commenting plugin, Parler utilizes a mobile client front-end to engage users directly within the social network. The application enables users to publish original content and provides for the easy discovery of true-trending comments, posts and news. Direct push notifications allow users to rejoin threads and keep conversation active. In addition to these features, Parler offers self-moderation tools in order to curate a very personal user experience.”
Welcome to all the new users. We are growing by about 1k users a minute. We expect to experience periodic issues over the next 24 hours.
It remains to be seen what benefit to MVT and spreading the VTC word.
While the concept is sound, only time will tell.
From what I’ve seen so far there is little discussion and much feeding off each other’s propaganda.
I believe so many have been prevented from voicing their opinions they are in what could be called a frenzy of written relief.
There is much groupthink going on and no debate, I am hopeful this isn’t permanent.
It isn’t profiting off our destruction and promoting things counter productive to Rightful Liberty which is a pleasant change.
I never used Twitter, despised Facebook (used for MVT support), and have dabbled with Instagram.
So I am experimenting to see what seems to get a reaction on Parler, but it seems like having a conversation in a noisy crowd.

Curious what thoughts others have?
Maybe I’m not used to the “format” but it seems like they don’t make it easy for networks to develop, other than doing searches (and even that didn’t work 100% for me). I think they might have user growth problems due to that- hopefully not.June 10, 2019 at 9:32 am #68084
I think that the “growth problems” are because of current growth rate (as high as 1k new users a minute).
There are worse problems to have, but we’ll see how they deal with it.
I do like the 1000 character limit compared to lower for Twit and gab.
Certainly room for improvement, but I am not too critical at this point. For me it will be how they adapt in a timely manner. I do not know if others will be as forgiving.June 10, 2019 at 9:51 am #68085MaxKeymaster
Yes, I think they are growing and will add features. FWIW I never understood how to use twitter.
I do see a lot of groupthink and a lot of ‘crazy’ MAGA red-hat wearing – whcih isn’t to say I don’t support any of that, but it’s just a little nuts! My worry is that the same crowd think Parler is for them and I have seen them do ‘;trains’ where they are organizing follows, very groupthink, seems like the same as the left – I hope they don’t start attacking so it does not become a non=free speech site. Many, of course, are simply not the brightest.
I was actually a little shocked even as someone who probably has a lot of views similar to these people – If any thing seeing the red-hats on parler would push me to adopt a more reasonable stance!
I would hope to see a lot more on true liberty and rightful liberty, not so much the specific trump train of MAGA – thin blue line – etc…..it seems many of these guys also do not get the issues between statism and liberty.
I am sticking with it for now – the other side of it is that if we can get people on it, we become a voice on Parler. We can’t make it unless we make it.June 10, 2019 at 10:15 am #68086

I don’t know if Parler is the place, but we got to help spread Rational Thought as it relates to Rightful Liberty!June 10, 2019 at 10:58 am #68089wesmcParticipant
I can’t get it to work. I can see content under “Posts” and “News” but nothing under “Users”.

We are still experiencing issues on our end from this explosive user growth. We are managing to keep the services online, and expect improvements over the next 24 hours.June 10, 2019 at 12:27 pm #68091
Response to a few already advocating censorship on Parler!

Complaining about a Social Media platform dedicated to Free Speech that lets anyone conduct free speech?
You got to be kidding?
Think before you speak!
Or text in this case.
I am retired military with over 20 years of service in multiple conflicts.
I support Free Speech!June 10, 2019 at 12:47 pm #68092MaxKeymaster
I have not seen that. But there are also delays due to network saturation….shall we try using the #maxtac just like IG? We can then search for the hashtag to find other’s posts…..June 10, 2019 at 1:01 pm #68093
…shall we try using the #maxtac just like IG? We can then search for the hashtag to find other’s posts…
Sounds good, though we may need something more obscure.
Wasn’t there some sci-fi thing on Instagram using it?June 10, 2019 at 4:10 pm #68100rampantraptorParticipant
If this is young enough and it grows even as much as Gab did there is the chance for a kind of founder effect – if you’re noisy enough, you’ll have more sway as an early adopter than on an already-populated platform like Twitter or IG. Never heard of Parler prior to this but I’m sure there’s desire for alternative social media that’s not infested with white nationalists like Gab is so perhaps there’s potential.
Okay, got Parler running now but seems really empty and kind of slow, looked under “Discover” and all I get are posts by a site called Epoch Times.
Never heard of Parler prior to this but I would also look at other new sites as well, I know Mastodon’s been making waves and it’s heavily decentralized so an MVT Mastodon network wouldn’t be subject to stuff like Twitter or Instagram’s
codes of conductcensorship, each instance polices itself basically.

…kind of founder effect…
Agree, but not sure if this will be early enough or not.
Never heard of Parler prior to this…
It’s been around since 2018, I guess December it had a relatively big bump, but didn’t sustain it. Then in late May it got another chance which it seems to be sustaining.
Its certainly battling some growing pains and needs some minor changes. I’ve seen some minor changes already to software today.
I haven’t seen any racist/supremacy stuff, but haven’t tried looking either and the search function has been useless today due to changes.
I don’t want to censor anyone or group, it is my hope that enough rational people will relegate it to obscurity.
So we will see what happens, I am hopeful.June 11, 2019 at 11:35 am #68106
Ok the latest freak out by a minority of Parler members is a large influx of Saudi members.
Membership doubled overnight!

Parler is dedicated to Free Speech and the Internet is Worldwide!
Of course my priority is to ensure Free Speech in these United States; my long Military career which began before I was old enough to vote was dedicated to this, however promoting Free Speech to everyone in the World is a worthy goal.
This apparent panic over others (Saudi’s in this case) is not in keeping with the ideals of Free Speech or the broader goals of Rightful Liberty!
Your Rightful Liberty means you don’t have to associate, like, follow, or otherwise participate with these Parler members.
It’s your choice!
Addressing your valid concerns over their motives and language barriers…
There are many true Americans that will be monitoring for any hidden agendas and are not hindered by any language barriers you may have.
We have enough threats to deal with here at home than to start diverting our attention to some foreigners abroad in search of Free Speech!June 11, 2019 at 1:29 pm #68107
Here is an example of someone who IMHO doesn’t get Rightful Liberty, the U.S. Constitution, or the Bill of Rights.
Posted on Parler…

The Constitution was written for American citizens, it’s not the worlds constitution!
We have freedom of speech, and we don’t owe anyone any of our rights.
Echo if you’re not happy about being sold out to Saudi Arabia
on this platform!! @parler
From his profile:
FMR. Fed LEO, New Mexico Special Weapons and Tactics 614, Specializing in Active Shooter, Hostage Rescue. Now living rent free in the minds of liberals worldwide.
I suspect my use of the Bill of Rights as a backdrop to my “Keep Focused!” graphic triggered him somewhat.
Consider “we don’t owe anyone any of our rights.” statement.
I consider these to be God given Rights to all men; Natural Rights if you don’t believe as I do, recognized by the U.S. Constitution.
Not given by it or any man!
The rest is somewhat superfluous in my opinion.June 11, 2019 at 6:36 pm #68110DarkriversParticipant
I read some of the comments. What a bunch of fucktards. That vein of conservative sounds just as bad as the rabid liberals. Rights for me but not for thee.

Some thoughts on Saudi members…
First of all consider the Laws of the Kingdom.
If your caught speaking ill of the Laws your taking your life in your hands.
Can’t imagine why any Saudi might want a Free Speech site?
Banned: Learning a musical instrument at school
The piano always looks good on a person’s CV but if you want to learn as a child it has to be private tutorials. Music lessons are forbidden in public forums and therefore, if you want to learn, it has to be done ‘underground’.
Banned: Going to the gym if you’re a woman
If you’re worried about your muffin top as a woman you want to hope you’ve got a flight of stairs in your house to run up and down. Private gyms for women WERE allowed to operate until recently when the Religious Police closed them down.
Banned: Worshipping any religion other than Islam
Believing in any other religion than Islam is frowned upon by Saudi Arabian officials. In fact, it’s against the law for non-Muslims to worship in public – and you won’t find a Church in the whole country. If anyone converts from Islam or abandons religion they face the death penalty.
Many are only Muslim in the sense that to not be means death.
This is just a very brief random sampling.
Think about it, why would they want access to Free Speech?
There is a 18 year old boy who is in jail facing the death penalty, he’s been there since he was 13, mostly in solitary. Charged with a series of offences, including his alleged participation in a protest as a 10 year old.June 13, 2019 at 1:34 am #68139
Ok a quick follow up on the so called “evil invaision” of Arabs on Parler! (Sarcasm)
First off I want to emphasize that this fearmongering is being pushed by ignorant fools!
They are a minority!
However I am saddened by the lack of pushback by people who should support Liberty and Freedoms ideals, you know things like Freedom of Speech.
Obviously I lack the resources to conduct an extensive investigation of the reported 220,000 Saudi’s who have joined Parler.
This was screenshot posted by one Parler user!
I echoed the post and requested the following…
Could you provide a link for original post?
This needs verification for action.
Thank you in advance.
No response to my requests!
So I am supposed to take some random alleged translation of an alleged Parler post with no collaborative documentation?
How stupid do these budding tyrants think I am!
So far a handful of people who have started following me of apparent Saudi origin that I have had both people I know read and some translation software used.
So what are the results of these admittedly cursory look at these Saudi’s?
Check out your kids or grandkids social media posts for a good example!
Music, soccer, funny pictures, jokes, many of which would be viewed unfavorably by the Saudi Religious Police.
The only potential terrorist I am seeing is by these damned fearmongering Parler users!
Now could Parler have some bad guy Saudi’s as members?
Well yea no shit!
Let’s see some evidence and rational thought.
