Well guys, got the day off yesterday for some range time with some VA buds. Fired up the ARs of which the recent pistol build was amazingly flawless in operation. The Noveske KX3 is a great piece of equipment on a 7.5 inch barrel. Very little flash, but damn the noise being that short. The Sic-Tac arm brace shoots very well from the shoulder too. The Relia-Bolt from Sharps came out nearly as clean as it went in after about 100 rounds. Would have been cleaner if I had a piston system. Took my Savage Axis, a recently rebuilt Marlin 30-30, my new Ruger wheel gun, and my wife’s new Browning 1911-22. All of those shot great, but, there is bad news…I took my boss’s two French MAS 48-56 rifles to test fire after doing some work on them. These two rifles are in fantastic condition but neither will extract. After having them for about a year and a number of test fires and identifying and replacing problem parts, I have come to the conclusion that they should be used for boat anchors. The boss is bummed a little but I told him I’d build him an AR-10 if he wants to sling .308. We’ll see what he says later. Anyway, the day was worth being off work even though it was damn near 100 degrees.
Glad the new AR performed well.
SBR’s and Rifle caliber pistols are real rough on the ears, particularly if under overhead cover at the range.
Be interested in pics myself :)
