Longest TX/RX on this test was 2.82 mi over FRS & MURS. Base radio handling TX-ing is the Baofeng UV-5R with a roll up J-Pole. RX radio was a Yaesu VX-8 with a Diamond extended whip antenna.

    Flat terrain?

East TN terrain, nothing flat about it. Notorious for difficult comms. The reason our distance was so short was we basically just ran out of time to go out further. And this was our first ever test.

Delta of about 80ft. elev. from TX point to RX point.
