This is an interesting video..If you can get past the Walking Dead characters he used, its worth watching. Im sure he used them purely to relate to the fantasy masses. Its a monetized channel..
This is why I laugh when i hear ppl talk about the “Alpha” concept and how they think it will give them superiority when the hammer drops.. Simply put its far more complicated then that. I’m not saying this vid is accurate but its absolutely good food for thought..

Some of the strongest people, with the most endurance, pound for pound, I have ever come across are indigenous (read Indians…feather, not dot) Mexicans. Short, wiry, very strong, and a very high endurance factor.
You have to respect them.September 15, 2016 at 1:29 pm #32781AnonymousInactive
I’m surrounded by Indigenous folks… I must be missing something….

Probably not, look at your environment compared to where these guys come from. There’s is sub-tropic to tropic, yours is pretty much arctic.September 15, 2016 at 2:02 pm #32783wesmcParticipant
A couple of thoughts:
Short, wiry, low-latitude, jungle-dwelling fellows probably will not fare well in Alaska, and metrosexual, muscle-bound, gym-dwelling, urbanites will not fare well anywhere.

Im not really arctic. Alaska would touch more then 2/3 of the lower 48s if you dropped it into it. It would stretch from the east coast to the west coast with miles to spare. Alaska is so big its actually the eastern most states in the Union.
I live in South Central in the Anchorage vicinity. I guess you could call it Sub-Arctic. We get hard arctic temps down to 40 below and we also get the effects of the rain-forest environment from the pacific northwest, right up the Alaska panhandle..

Another example of the difference environment makes would be in whitetail deer. I promise you, that a Canadian whitetail will be almost twice, if not more, the body weight of a South Texas whitetail.September 15, 2016 at 2:26 pm #32787rampantraptorParticipant
Reminds me of this article I read a while back on Vice.

I have often wondered what level of fat, or energy as termed in the video, actually makes sense from a survival perspective. I suspect in almost any prolonged circumstance having little extra is going to be helpful early on.
My philosophy is that you train and hard work now and put the PT in on a daily basis now you will be as prepared as you can be, given your own individual circumstances.
