    Here she is, and she is sweet:

    The OEM 2 comes without furniture. I selected FDE color items:

    Magpul stock
    Magpul Trigger Guard
    Magoul BUIS
    Magpul pistol grip

    I put on an M-LOK handguard, in fact I had an armorer do it for me. On the hand guard I put:

    InForce IR / White light, fitted to a short rail section
    Magpul AFG
    Magpul Heat guards
    Front sling swivel

    I added my OTAL IR Laser to the top of the rail, with paddle switch on velcro. This was purchased from Robert at JRH Enterprises.

    I added a Trijicon MRO (Patrol) as the sight. With the lower third co-witness mount. I am very happy with this sight. The only thing it does not have is any magnification. That would be an issue for working in wide open spaces. For CQB and normal engagement distances here in VA, not an issue. It appears to be an excellent battle sight. The patrol version has a kill flash on the front, I removed the end caps, which I have no use for . 50,000hrs on one battery left turned on on a medium setting.

    Robert (JRH Enterprises) brought me up the MRO for the FoF weekend and sold it to me for a good price. Can’t beat that kind of service!

    The furniture I bought was all DFE. Rothco does a coyote brown spray paint which I use to spray up my rifles. It is the ‘regulation’ coyote brown color and matches the FDE perfectly. I sprayed up the remainingg black parts of the rifle with this. Including the MRO, taking care to tape up parts that I do not want to spray!

    NICE!!

    Extra plug for Robert. If you’re not familiar with, become. The odds of becoming a repeat customer are high…..

    Very nice! I’ve been eyeing the OEM2. It’s about the best deal out there for a top tier rifle.

    I also bought an MRO from Robert and I’ve been putting it through the paces for about 500 rounds. It’s fast on target and has an excellent field of view.

    @Max

    What is your experience (pros/cons) with the Inforce light?? I have read reviews of a small number having breaking issues on the plastic housing (from the reviews, attributed to the recoil of the 5.56. Yes, I know, low recoil but that’s what the reviews are listing).

    Great setup, I’ve been thinking the same thing when I get back to the States. Just need to figure out so I need another AR at this time.

    Huh. You’re right.
    OEM1 https://www.tombstonetactical.com/catalog/colt/col-ar-oem1-556-16.1-no-frn-30/ is 684$ which is what it was.

    and OEM2 https://www.tombstonetactical.com/catalog/colt/col-ar-oem2-556-16.1-no-frn-30/ is 745$

    When I got mine for 599 yesterday there were only 3-4 in stock. Now it says there are 64 in stock for 745. Must have been a special.

    Sorry to get your hopes up. I should have bought 2.

    Max or anyone, thoughts on hand guard length vs barrel? On 16.1″ barrel 12 or 15″?

    @mvddmod
    The closer you can get your handguard length to your barrel the better your sight radius will be for your iron sights (finer adjustments, more accurate). Longer handguard allows you to perch your rifle on objects without laying it on the barrel which would affect your POI, and possibly burn whatever you’re laying it on. Not to mention the benefits of mounting things in various places and hand grips.

    IMO if you’re using a lightweight (MLOK or Keymod) handguard get it as close to your barrel length without going over. Barrels inside handguards tend to create banana peels.

    Please explain –

    Do you mean the muzzle being inside the hand guard?? :unsure:

    Am I missing something here?? :unsure:

    The handguard on the OP rifle is 13″. Perfect for me. I think you may want longer if you like to go for an extreme c-clamp grip. Not my cup of tea.

    Max,
    What brand handguard is that? Does it work with the OEM barrel nut or do you have to remove the one that came with the upper and use a proprietary barrel nut that came with the handguard?

    UTG. Came with it’s own barrel nut. I had my local FFL who it shipped to, put on the handguard, they are also an armorer.
