This is an excellent book about 3rd Battalion, 506th PIR from their initial training through the D-Day campaign. The authors have done extensive research and interviews with members of the battalion.
This book goes a long way to correct a disservice that has been done to other units in the 101st Airborne.
What do I mean by that?
I am sure most of you know about “Band of Brothers”, the book and the mini-series. Both are excellent. The focus on that one company has left the stories of other men and units untold. Men and units that had just as hard or harder of a fight than Easy Company.
This is not to detract from what those men accomplished, I think it was an unintentional outcome.
There are a couple more books that cover Market Garden and Bastogne. I will review those once I have read them.
Signal out, can you identify.
Je ne regrette rien...

Will definitely check this out! Having grown up with my grandaddy, I’m partial to this time era and people.
