I know the propaganda is the “blue wave” has the momentum. The Polls agree, those same pollsters that said Hillary wins in a landslide!
We see the Socialist reaction since President Trump’s election win.
Given the Socialist propaganda, how big of a meltdown can we expect if the Republicans maintain control of the House?
How much fuel would be added if Republicans not only keep House, but have further gains in numbers?
Many Socialists are already hedging their bets by blaming Russians already.
What are your thoughts given my scenario?August 9, 2018 at 4:15 am #60954rampantraptorParticipant
If I had to make a guess, I’d say that some historically Democratic districts that swung Trump might swing back blue but not a blue wave like the media has been praying for. What gains the Dems will get will probably be modest IMO.
If there is a red wall that keeps the legislature in GOP hands then the Dems will probably engage in more infighting between the establishment and progressive Democrats over how radical or how moderate their message should be.

There is no blue wave. Just a bad meme pushed by the Dems. Even with election wins for the dems like they had in Alabama that was more due to the old GOP messing things up. Mo Brooks should have been on the ballot not Roy More.
The better news is that the old GOP ‘conservatives’ (neo-cons) are losing out. Sure they always talk a good game but they never take any ground back from the neo-liberals and always ‘compromise’.August 9, 2018 at 1:56 pm #60986RobRoyParticipant
All the media propaganda is emotional release. What is outrage and concern today is forgotten by tomorrow, and don’t remind them of it or else.
If I dare stick up for Trump here it is my WAG that he has a plan on how to crush those pathetic people of the “resistance” with his own bit of propaganda work.
Contrary to the O2 wasters of the conservative movement Trump I think understands that the useful idiots of the Left have the emotional fragility of a big assed, zit faced, braces wearing 14 year old girl (my apologies to teen girls).
As for the question what happens, my guess the party of diversity goes racist. Oh Joy. sarcasm folks

My guess Dems will fracture along socialist and partisan issues. Don’t be surprised to see CNN calling for Republicans to become registered foreign agents and or Russians.
It will also become more dangerous to be Republican or a Trump supporter in certain areas. The hope Team Freedom has is that “mainstream” Dems with widespread name recognition like Pelosi lose nominations and or the more radical Dems take over the party guaranteeing they alienate their blue collar base and centerist Dems. They will continue to lose supporters to radical left groups like the DSA and resurgent Maoist groups which I probably don’t have to tell you will lead to nowhere. They will continue to terrorize areas they predominate like Portland and Berkeley and further alienate petty bourgeoisie leftists who usually want to run a business and raise their kids in peace for whom antifa signalling is bad for business. I think that it is clear that active leftist strength will be sapped by drug and queer addictions which can be all the difference in numbers needed for populist groups to be able to hold marches or protests without it being a nasty uncivil affair. The window of time when youth activism is likely to happen is rapidly ending for millenials as they enter the work force and have kids themselves.
Radical movements financed be certain persons like #AbolishICE need to be amplified to the Nth degree to ensure that normal people are put off by similar radical notions.August 10, 2018 at 6:58 pm #61031TCParticipant
Best hope for the Dems would be to rebrand themselves as a party of young, hip, cool, reasonable, friendly, “socially conscious” people, like what Justin Trudeau campaigned on in Canada, and put smart effort into a grassroots campaign for the 2020 election.
Instead they’re moving far left to counter what they perceive is the far right. They’re trying to out-Trump Trump by being even more brash, provocative, and extreme, and it’s driving away the moderates. The #walkaway movement is one result of that.
Maybe it’s just desperation, since in their screwed up heads they’re the French Resistance fighting a Nazi occupation. I think the left will become smaller in number but more determined, organized, and violent.

A small example useful to examine is the rise and fall of Jonestown, no one went there and reasoned those people out of their downfall. What happened was that some doof congressman went down there and asked a simple question “would you like to go home” and a few took him up on this offer.
That broke the camel’s back of legitimacy, as any walk away movement could do the the meta cult the left is today. There will be no conservative savior for the cult, it has to be pushed to death by its own hands.
Prediction: The crazy is just beginning.

I forsee almost endless recounts, massive voter fraud (like the town in Ohio with all the 116 year olds) much whining, pissing and moaning, along with tears and tirades, and some calls to violence if they lose.
If they win, get ready for the impeachment circus and possibly a seriously bad reaction from the ultra right morons. JMO.August 11, 2018 at 11:36 am #61062Joe (G.W.N.S.)Moderator

I believe the left will get a “burr under its saddle” if/when Judge Kavanaugh gets confirmed. This will happen prior to the mid-terms, with hearings started in early September. I too believe that the “blue wave” is a myth. Anything short of winning a majority in the Senate and/or House will cause a media uproar and a spike in Trump induced PTSD on the left. The old “established” DNC is at war with the “new” DNC and its shift to full blown socialism. Will it be enough to “light the fuse”, I’m not sure, but would bet no. I do believe that Trump winning a second term would be more than the socialist/leftest/progressives could stand, and that would mean all bets are off. Time will tell, so use it wisely.August 12, 2018 at 8:48 pm #61106winter_is_comingParticipant
Re red and blue designators, it is interesting that red used to be associated with democrat (symbolizes socialism/communism) and blue used to be associated with republicans – NOW, the two color designations are INVERTED, where red is now associated with republicans and blue is now associated with democrats … this happened recently, and no one even talks about it, its probably a psyop.August 14, 2018 at 4:59 am #61150rampantraptorParticipant

Seems the flip happened around 2000, I thought it went back further. Kinda interesting actually, thanks for making me look that up.
Saw this on CBS and it was kind of funny to read. Sorry if anyone here still has warm feelings for Palin.
The more she talks the more she seems unable to articulate her own positions. Honestly the more it goes on the more it seems there were simply enough voters tired of the incumbent they simply voted for the challenger out of spite, and since it’s a solid Democratic district (How gerrymandered is New York by the way?) she has no reason to tone down her rhetoric since she’s guaranteed the seat. Nutjob candidates coming from single-party districts is actually a more recent and bipartisan phenomenon as states become ever more gerrymandered, seems Ocasio-Cortez is just the latest iteration of this.

The left is moving toward a position that puts their side in a morally superior position. E.g., there violence is okay when used against someone who disagrees with them.
They are setting the stage to depicted themselves as morally right. You can not argue against a moral position because the argument must change the position of the holder. This is what happened in the first civil war. With the positions morally divided, the alternate was war.
Cuomo at CCN put this out in the market place of ideas.
