I need to get an amber filter for my PVS-14. I was wondering what some of the more experienced members suggested? I found three different types that are available. The Wilcox filter seems to be the way to go but wanted I wanted some other opinions. I kinda like the one in the last link because you can still use the eye cup.

The Wilcox amber filter is great.

I don’t have them on my site cause there really is no markup on them, but if you need one let me know.

The Wilson one is really good. Does seem to help with the eye strain.

    Wilcox.

After years and who knows how many hours under nods, it’s nice to have an amber shade to everything instead of green.

You don’t need the eye cup with an amber filter. The amber filter eliminates that green backsplash on your face. With no eye cup, you have peripheral vision and you avoid that tunnel vision effect.

Wilcox. As Brian said, shit-can the eyepiece and install the Wilcox. It has a nice rubber bumper on it, which sits nicely on your safety glasses.

I have been thinking about purchasing the Wilcox amber filter. Does it help with fogging?

I have a Wilcox and a couple I got from my NV guy that look like they might be the “Integrated Components” one. The screw-in one is my choice by far!

Wilcox is better than nothing, but out of the three you posted, it would be my last choice, simply because it just snaps on over the eyepiece, it is pretty bulky, and in my experience is pretty easy to snap off unintentionally.

None of the filters are going to help with fogging.

I use the Wilcox and have not had the issues that shooter talks about.

I have no idea. Contact Wilcox, they may have the answer.
