  • I’m nobody special, but my own observation from my 10 years in the USAF left me with a bad taste for the future of the military.

Political expediency is winning over actually doing the right thing and being good at the job. The “visionaries” are doing everything they can to shape the politically correct force they want and have no problem squas…[Read more]

    +1

I think it was searching for load carriage stuff that led me to MVT’s blog.

I know you hate gear discussions, Max, but it does draw eyeballs. You’re one of the only ones actually talking about how to carry gear from a position of authority. The fact that you approached it from a philosophical perspective rather than, “go buy this” angle w…[Read more]

…and that’s why Facebook is losing value as a place for businesses

  • I was thinking about this more last night.

I guess the bottom line you need to think about is where is the audience you actually want to reach? All the internet marketing talking heads trying to sell you something will tell you to be all over social media. But the ground truth is that you need to be where your audience is.

  • I found MVT originally through your blog articles. I don’t remember what I was searching for, it was a long time ago, but Google kept recommending your articles in the first page or two.

I read a lot of your articles, then later worked through the books.

Also kept seeing MVT pop up in forum discussions.

Facebook is dying. It’s not really a v…[Read more]

  • I’m pretty sure everyone who thinks about these things knew this was going to be the end result.

    1. Create a law that allows confiscation without real due process in a “narrow” scope of circimstances.

    2. Once the bill is passed, slowly expand the “narrow circumstances” to mean whatever the hell you want.

    3. Profit.

    I truly understan…[Read more]

I felt the same way when I stood in Independence Hall. Of all things, it was the chairs and imagining who sat in them that got me.

There’s an awful lot of chat about who is going be the ones who stand up and do something. But talk about resistance and fighting is cheap.

I remember when the whole Bundy thing happened. Gun owners everywhere, i…[Read more]

I felt the same way when I stood in Independence Hall. Of all things, it was the chairs and imagining who sat in them that got me.

There’s an awful lot of hat about who is going be the ones who stand up. Talk about resistance and fighting is cheap, though.

  • I’m certainly curious what’s coming. Rob Shaul, who runs the MTI fitness center out in Wyoming once suggested a shuttle run test as well for tactical fitness.

His version included loaded plate carriers and dropping to low push-up position at each end of the distance. So the test was to start with chest on ground, pop up and run 25 yards, get bac…[Read more]

  • It’s only a matter of time before the progressive purity police “other-ize“ too many from even team blue.

I have some pretty liberal activist coworkers who are starting to complain that these groups can’t just keep labeling everyone else as nazis/bigots/potential mass murders and expect to make headway.

I’m the end, if they succeed, they are…[Read more]

  • I saw the nuke comment yesterday.

    Stupid.

I get that it’s hyperbole to show disparity of capability, but it’s dtill a stupid thing to say. The underlying point shouldn’t be forgotten, though. This group believes they are better than us by every measure, and are perfectly willing to bring as much force to the table as they think will creat…[Read more]

I grew up there. It’s not just the Florida drivers. It’s the unholy mix of everyone else’s bad driving habits collecting in one place.

You have the retirees who shouldn’t have a license anymore, but AARP fought to prevent the state from testing their eyesight or driving ability in order to renew.

You’ve got the central and South American…[Read more]

  • I doubt this is going anywhere.

IMO, we’ll move away from 5.56 when we move away from traditional brass cases. A whole new ammunition design necessitates a new rifle, that’s when we’ll see something change.

  • I’m also in the 5AM workout club 4-5 days per week. It really does give you a bit of a mental boost before going into work. Of course, I’m also ready to crash by 9 PM each night, lol.

I’d like to hear more about your periodization between strength and conditioning. You’re not the first I’ve seen write about that.
