As a USCG help pilot in Alaska, I used to clear the down range ocean for the “target” missle launch facility on Kodiak.
Every damn time there was some idiot fisherman that refused to leave. Oh well, can’t fix stupid.
Even back then, 04-06, they had a pretty good shoot down rate. Sure it much better tech mow.
Tango’s 21 Feb sandbag workout was just right. Oddly enough, the first burden carry was harder for me than the second one after the workout.
STOP. HURTING. ME.
12 min AMRAP:
8x Supine Ring Pull Ups
8x Push Press 95#
15x Hollow Body Rocks

Literally JUST had this conversation today with a leftist friend. Kept it focused on space science (CME) then slipped in the numerous EMP attack reports that state 90% dead in the US the first year. Really woke her up. Visibly shaken. We’ll see.
Ill see if I can track down my Kazakhstan crude hole in the ground at the gas station pic. Ground was frozen and my buddy slid into it when he opened the door and step into the dark room. Yuck.
So did Sept 18, 2018…
5 Rounds for time off:
15x Lunges w/35# medball
IFQ @ 16:39. Made it four rounds before I had to puke. Decided not to push the 53yr old bod any further.
Catch me up on the latest thoughts about a MVT workout plan. Took my time getting thru the 25 days of Fitmas. But I’m…[Read more]
The 31 Jan workout above SUCKED in a good, I hate you, bad way.
May do it again today if my shoulders allow. :)
Good timing on bringing this back up. All my certs (including EMT-B) have now lapsed…but I still have some of the knowledge and coursework. I ran Vol Fire EMS in the 2012-14 timeframe but it was too much with a new job and “family issues.” Besides, the ALS teams kept us BLS volunteers off the “real/ cases anyway. Got to run elderly to the…[Read more]
Now I can see why no one tried this one. More cardio than than I thought.
Tip: Don’t raise your arms on the squats like I did. Wore my arms out too soon.
7 rounds, but I cheated and took a minute rest after 5. So,…5. But I felt like such a wimp I went 2 more rounds.
Mainly real PUs, but didn’t hang on the last two sets. Lower bar that…[Read more]
80lb short bar weight
Full shoulder stand touches
70lb x2 FC
3 full sets. I had 10 seconds left and tried not to puke as I stood over the sand stone and cussed at it while thinking about picking it up again.
100# sand stone
1st PU set normal;
2nd PU set band assist;
3rd set Rows
Plank 1:06; 1:04; 00:46
Side 0:37; 0:40; 0:40. Really need to do more of this. It hurt.
L Sit 0:05; 0:10; 0:11. Laughably bad
Just for giggles, I pushed that 70# sled with a 300# sandbag on it 50m between each set. One of the gym trainers jumped on it the last lap, making it a 500# push. Planned to do more today but was exhausted after that.
THAT hurt. 24:02. 295#
225# weights; sled was 70#
Wasn’t until I was done I figured out the gym turf was wet in one stop…Making it tend times harder to pull. Just thought this 52 yr old sucked. Which I do.
Throw. 100# sandstone (ball)
55″ womp womp (sad trombone)
Made 5 tries. Sad. Back really felt it next day too.
5 fulls sets + another set of squats.
Jogged it. Need to run more.
Have done several. Catching up posting.
I love it when I do one of these at the gym and suddenly then younger crowd “discovers” a new thing to do.
After I set it up (removalable mechanism) and had done 4 sets of dips, there was a line and I had to share. Stopped the clock of course.
Apparently,my son, the math PhD, got all the smarts. So, since I actually did 0.45miles each, Ill add 20 seconds and call it good. 19:10
70# bar (ouch)
25# plate on standard gym landmine setup
OK, I get old man stupid points though. I ran .4 miles on a treadmill each time. Afterwards I determined 800M = .31. Look before you leap, right?
88# KB. Ouch.
